The venue

A place to sell, not a seller

Liquidator.news never owns, holds or prices the goods, and never touches a buyer’s money. That is what keeps it simple and keeps it honest.

What the Market is

  • A venue: businesses and people list their own goods and sell them directly to buyers.
  • Buyers pay the seller directly, through the seller’s own PayPal Goods & Services or checkout.
  • Sellers pay WeldonPC a monthly plan and a small fee on each sold lot. Buyers pay no fees at all.

What it is not

  • Not an auctioneer, auction firm, liquidator, consignee or escrow agent; never the seller.
  • Never holds, receives or forwards a buyer’s money; no wallets, no stored balances.
  • No live or called auctions, no penny auctions, no bid fees, no buyer’s premium.

Three formats

Pick how each lot sells

Every countdown is the real server end time. No fake urgency: no “only N left”, no viewer counts, no timers that reset.

Clock (markdown)

You set a start price, a floor, how much it drops and how often (every 6 hours or more, or daily at a set hour). The whole schedule is published on the lot before it starts. The first buyer to accept the price shown buys at that price or lower, never higher.

Fixed price

“Buy now at $X.” The first buyer wins; anyone a moment later sees that it sold and that nothing was charged. No offers, no haggling in messages.

Timed (silent bids)

Bidders set a hidden maximum and the system bids for them one step at a time. A bid with less than two minutes left moves the end to two minutes after that bid. Optional secret reserve and buy-now. Built and tested, but switched off until a lawyer confirms it under Ohio auction law. The practice auction runs the same engine with play money.

How a sale runs

From listing to loading dock

Liquidator.news records each step; the money moves between buyer and seller only.

  1. List. A verified seller lists a lot with photos, condition, location, pickup or shipping terms, and the removal and rigging details.
  2. Sell. The Clock, the fixed price or the timed bidding ends in one buyer, never two.
  3. Pay the seller. The buyer has 2 days to pay the seller directly by PayPal Goods & Services or the seller’s checkout. The seller confirms receipt.
  4. Pick up. The pickup address is shown only after payment. Buyer and seller message each other on the sale page; problems go through an on-site dispute with a 3-business-day reply window.

Rules that protect buyers

What cannot be listed

Weapons, alcohol and tobacco, drugs and Rx devices, recalled children’s products, hazardous materials, counterfeits, catalytic converters and scrap, titled vehicles, tickets and gift cards, and more. Every listing passes an automatic word screen before it goes live, every seller attests each lot, and anyone can report a lot. No automatic screen catches everything: report anything that gets through. The full list and the reasons.

Payment requests that are screened

Listings and messages that ask for Zelle, wire transfers, crypto, gift cards, “friends and family”, Cash App, Venmo, money orders or cash by mail are refused automatically; report any that get through. Those are how buyers lose money with no recourse.

Practice auction

See the bidding before it opens

Four invented lots, simulated rivals and play money, on the real bidding engine: proxy maximums, the two-minute soft close, a secret reserve and buy-now. Each lot ends every 15 minutes.
