Buying at liquidation: as-is, pickup, rigging
General information from public sources, not legal, tax or financial advice. Each guide links to the source.
Liquidation lots can be very good value, and they come with conditions that retail purchases do not. Read the whole lot page before you bid or buy.
As-is means as-is
Unless a seller says otherwise, Market lots are sold as-is: no warranty that they work, and often no returns (the lot page says so). Ask questions before you buy, and read the condition (new, used or for parts) carefully.
Pickup and removal
- The pickup address is shown after the seller confirms your payment. You schedule pickup within 3 business days, in the seller’s pickup hours.
- Equipment lots say who removes the equipment, whether there is a dock or forklift, and whether riggers must carry a certificate of insurance. Heavy equipment may need disconnection by a licensed trade first.
- “Buyer arranges freight” means you book and pay the carrier.
Price and fees
Buyers pay no fee to Liquidator.news and there is no buyer’s premium. You pay the seller the price, any flat shipping the lot declared, and any sales tax the seller must collect.
Recalls and safety
Check children’s products, sleep products and appliances against cpsc.gov/Recalls. Report any recalled item listed on the Market.
